My Mom's Apron

This apron belonged to my dear Mom. It is very special to me. I have it hanging in my kitchen where it is handy for me to use. I love having it out so I can look at it and think of her and how much she meant to me.

Bulletin Board Makeover

My 13 yo dd thought that the bulletin board in her bedroom was in need of a makeover. We decided to go to the store to find material that would match her room. I cut the material to fit inside the frame of the bulletin board. I used hot glue around the edges to attach the material. (I wanted the fabric to be easy to remove should she change her bedroom colors in the future.) We also purchased some decorative edging to give it a finished look. This was a quick and easy project.

Here is a closeup of the material and edging.

Laundry Room

I love my laundry room, especially since we added cabinets above the washer and dryer. The skirt on the laundry sink is made out of tier curtains sewn together. I attached the tiers with velcro. The sewing machine belonged to my dear Gram. I remember her spending a lot of time at this machine lovingly making quilts. The jar on the sewing machine is filled with buttons that she collected. I have an old picture of my great grandmother doing laundry with several other ladies that I plan on enlarging and hanging above the laundry sink.

Bottles

Along with my love for barn stars I also love bottles. Most of the bottles I have were collected by my Dad. The more decorative bottles were thrift store finds.

Barn Stars

I love stars...it all started when we first moved into our home and our very dear friends purchased a large barn star for us as a house-warming gift. If you scroll down to my first post, you'll see the picture of the barn star that started it all.
Visit Cottage Bethy (http://www.homedaisy.blogspot.com) to see her lovely blue barn star.

Living Room

Many items in my home are treasures that belonged to my family or I have picked them up at thrift stores. The dresser in the living room belonged to my Mom and Dad. I use it for storage. The iron candle sconces were purchased at my favorite thrift store.
This table is another item that belonged to my Mom and Dad. It's a little crooked, but I think that adds to it's charm.
The coffee table was made by my dear Husband when we were first married.
