Egg Trinket Box

When I bought the three egg boxes from the Dollar Tree I had no idea what I was going to do with them, I just knew that I had to buy them because I thought they were so sweet. I decided to put together a nest for the off white egg. I started out with a grapevine wreath (.99 cent thrift store find) added an ivy candle ring that I had on hand, added a pip berry candle ring that I just purchased and then put the egg into it's new home. (I wish I could get a close up of the egg for all of you to see...it has cute little brown specks all over it...just darling!) I'm still deciding what to do with my other two eggs...any ideas? I'm not sure if you can tell this from the picture or not but this is not a tiny egg...it's 5 1/2 inches long.

Sweet Finds

I spent the morning at several of my favorite thrift stores. I found the three sweet birds for 99 cents each. The ceramic eggs and the "chocolate" rabbit (it's actually resin) were found at the Dollar Tree store for $1.00 each. The ceramic eggs come apart like little trinket boxes. The "chocolate" rabbit looks so real (I swear it smells like chocolate...lol). I am so happy with what I found.

More Stars For My Collection

While browsing one of my favorite little stores, I found these stars. I love the curled hanger, the rivets (which aren't really visible in this picture) and the color. They have a new home in our laundry room.

Gooseberry Patch Collection

I love Gooseberry Patch cookbooks...not sure how long I've been collecting them, but I adore them. The recipes are just wonderful...check out the Gooseberry Patch website in the Country Decor links section of my blog to learn more about them.

Kitchen Pictures

I have been searching for the perfect clock for my kitchen. I wanted something that had an old, worn look to it. I found this clock at Wal-mart and I am thrilled with it. I'm still working on finding other things to decorate my walls since we had the beadboard added. This is taking some time. I purchased the table several months ago. On top of the table is a small iron cookstove given to me by my Gram. The star was given to me by my friend Beth for Christmas. The courting candle was just given to me by my friend Josie...(thank you...I love it). The bottom shelf holds four new Gooseberry Patch cookbooks (yes, they are my weakness). They were given to me for Christmas by my dear husband and sweet daughter.

Tuesday's Treasures

This little tea set belonged to me as a child and the pictures were a thrift store find. I paid 25 cents a piece for them. One thing I love about the pictures is that they are double matted.

Pictures of Our Powder Room

We are fortunate to have a small powder room on the first floor right off of our laundry room. There are still a few little things that I'd like to do to this room. I have a small cupboard to stain that I want to put up on the wall to store medicines, etc. since we don't have a medicine cabinet in this room. Every room in my home has a few special treasures...I have several displayed on the shelves of my cupboard.
