~* My Bench--Yes It's Black...lol *~

Thank you all so much for your kind comments on my last post regarding my black picture frame and the black shelf. I'm really loving how they all turned out.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
For weeks now I have contemplated painting the bench on our porch, which was made by my dh back in high school (25 years ago!!!). I received a pleasant surprise when my dd and I returned home last night. I saw that the bench had been moved from the porch, but I didn't know what happened to it. Turns out that dh decided to paint it for me! That really touched my heart that he would do that...I guess he's not that tired of black....Yet!

Thanks for stopping by dear friends!

ATTENTION: Strawberry Quick is NOT Candy

With Halloween so close I wanted to warn all parents that there is something going around that you should be on the look out for. It is called "Strawberry Quick" and NO it is NOT candy. I can't stress this enough, but am worried that once your children go back to school friends may have this, it is a drug. This drug does look like the candy candy known as Rock Candy and it is colored. This is a

~* More Black...Again!*~

Good Saturday Morning blogging friends! I took pictures of my latest black painting projects and decided to show them to you today...I thank you for putting up with me and my latest love of black paint.

I am amazed how much the shelf shows up on the wall now...I love it, though I'm not 100% sure about what I have on the shelf...we'll see what happens there.

I'm also really pleased how the picture turned out...I think it makes the fern really stand out now!

I'm going to be doing some reorganizing in my bathroom closet. I found the organizing tray at Burlington Coat Factory...I bought two of them for right now, but I believe I may get more...they are really nice and the price is right, too, at $5.99.

Thanks for stopping by...have a wonderful weekend!

Good morning, dear blogging friends! I'm glad some of you let me know that you signed up for the Gooseberry Patch cookbooklets! I'm excited...how about you? I also appreciate your kind comments on my living room tour. I still have several more pictures of the living room to post. They are pictures of horses and horse figurines. I'll probably post them at the beginning of next week.

I updated my other blog, "Home Is Where The Heart Is...2". I hope you'll stop over to read what I have to say and to look at my pictures.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I'm working on painting a couple of more things in my home black.

After I painted the BATH letters black, it seemed as though the picture above, which I got at Goodwill for .99 cents blended into the wall, so I'm painting it black.

I decided to paint this shelf black, too.

Well, that's all for now...I'm off to bake some Coffee Bars that my friend, Lesa, posted about on her blog...YUMMY!

Las Vegas Boy Found

Cole Mason Puffinburger was kidnapped from his home on October 5th, his mom and her boyfriend tied together and a nation-wide hunt began for him. The good news is he was found late last night, Saturday, October 18th in Las Vegas. Someone saw the little boy walking the streets NE of the Las Vegas Strip. My guess is his kidnappers released him and figured he'd either find his way home or he

~* The Living Room Tour - Part 2 *~

I decided to give you an up close and personal look at some of the items in our living room. All I can say is thank goodness for high speed internet or it would have taken days to upload these pictures. I hope you all enjoy the second part of the tour.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
This coffee table was made by my dear husband when we were first married. Our dd loved walking around this coffee table when she was a baby. There are alot of marks on it from her, but I don't mind because she antiqued it!
This old suitecase belong to my dear dad. I have old photo albums stored in it.
I bought this house new at one of the little shops in Ligonier. The "Be Thankful" figurine is from my friend, Trish.
This is a picture of my dear husband and his three older brothers...it's one of my favorites...my dh is the littlest cowboy. I got this picture frame at the thrift store.
I bought these HOME tealights at Big Lots...they were very cheap!

Old bottles from my dear dad line my window sills.
I picked up this basket at our church's annual bazarr. I have my Country Living magazines and some of my Country Sampler magazines in it.
An old picture of my great grandma in front of her log house and a fall birdnest from another favorite store called "Collections by Marty".
A clock, old glasses, old books, and a pocket watch from my grandpap.
Candle holder from the thrift store...I paid $2.00 for it. I have two of them on my wall.
A not so old lamp with some old spurs.
Wooden candle holders from the thrift store. I paid 25 cents a piece for them. I was thinking about painting them black!
A wooden plate from another favorite store called the WOW Outlet. They have great items at great prices. An angel tea light from my dear friend, June, who is like a second mother.
Thanks for stopping by for the tour.

Sarah wanted to know if I have a western theme in the living room. There are quite a few items that are "horse themed" in the room (I seriously could do another post on those items), several paintings and a number of horse figures from Montana Silversmith...my dh is a cowboy at heart!

~* New Goodies *~

Good Monday morning...I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was pretty good. Friday I went to our town's Fort Ligonier Days. There was plenty of food, crafts and people. There were a lot of neat craft items, but nothing that really caught my eye. I was, however, on the lookout for a night light for in my kitchen...lo and behold I found the perfect one...it's black and it's punched tin.
Saturday and Sunday was spent with the family...we went out to eat Saturday evening. Sunday we went to church and after church we went for a nice drive to see all of the beautiful trees in their glory...I did not have my camera (kicking myself).
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Several weeks ago I went thrifting and I found this little urn. For it being so small it is really heavy! I'm not sure what it is made out of. I was thinking about painting it black, but I don't think it looks that bad the color it is...what do you think?

As always, I appreciate your visits and comments...Have a wonderful day in the Lord!

Fun with the Family

What have we been doing lately you ask? Simple is hanging out, it doesn't matter if it is at home, playing video games, board games or kicking the ball out front. We've been having time together and it's been a lot of fun. When we aren't home we stop at the park and just let the kids have at it. I even caught Daddy playing kickball with SoccerBoy last weekend, that is until we all joined in and

~*More Black Projects*~

Thank you for your sweet comments about my last post. I'm having so much fun painting things black...I hope you all don't tire of seeing my black projects because I have a few more. I'm not really sure what this wooden thing is, but I've been using it as a disguise on my washer to hide the ugly hoses. Of course, I do have to look at the hoses when I'm washing clothes, but at least they can be hidden should we have guests that need to use the powder rom.

I put this basket of pipberries there, too.
Here is a picture of the cupboard in my powderroom. As you can see, the black tiles I recently painted are on the middle shelf. Now that I'm looking at this picture the basket in the lower right corner looks a little out of place...or is it just me??? Do you think I should paint it black, too?

I purchased black plate holders at Wal-mart to lift them up a bit. I didn't like the look of how all three black items on the shelf were the same level...it needed some height variation and the plate holders solved that problem. On the top shelf is a sign that says "HOME". I made this myself. The frame was from a yard sale. It cost me .25 cents. The frame was light green and I painted it black. I used scrapbooking materials, but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with the look of it...I mean it's okay, but I think it needs some embellishment.
This frame was a thrift store find. It was gold, and then I had painted it white, which didn't work for me so I painted it black and added the scrapbooking materials. It did have a small picture of a bird in it, but I wanted something different.

Thank you for stopping by to look at my latest projects...have a blessed day, my friends!

~*Another Project Using Black Paint*~

Hello blogging friends...hope you all are doing well today! I've been busy looking for things to paint black and this is one of my recent projects. I found these metal tiles at Wal-mart in the clearance section last year. Again, I never did anything with them. Was thinking that they be great with old pictures mounted on them and that is just what I did. I figured that painting them black would work better with my decor so I slapped on a coat of paint (I found two tiles).

They're nice in white, but much better in black!

I scanned two old pictures of my dh and his brothers and mounted them on scrapbooking paper. Next I mounted them on the tiles. I'm really happy with the results. Sorry that the pictures are a little dark...I was trying to get a closeup.

This last picture shows them on a shelf in a cupboard that is in our powderroom.

Thanks for stopping by...I love the company. And, if you want to see the bench I'm thinking of painting, then go to my other blog to see the picture I posted. Have a great weekend!
